Dear Year 2 Parents
We
are asking for your support with regard to the matter of homework. There have been an increasing amount of
children not completing homework or failing to hand it in on time.
We
allow a few days for the completion of homework as we know everyone leads busy
lives, but feel this should be enough time.
The homework supports work done at school and without regular home
support this could affect your Childs performance.
The
details of homework are:-
Maths – given on Friday,
due after the weekend
Spelling – sentences given
on Friday and to be returned the following Friday. Please can these be written in pencil?
Spelling words – given on
Friday for a test the following Friday.
It is better to spend 5 minutes everyday instead of cramming the night
before as children do not retain them or realise too late they have forgotten
the sheet.
During
the Easter holidays we would like your child to practise the 2, 5, and 10 times
table. Children in Mrs Noble/Mrs Shaw’s
maths group should also practise the 3 and 4 times table. There will be a tables test when the children
return to school.
We
are collecting plastic bottles (1litre or 2 litre clear/plastic) for our ‘growing’
topic after the holidays.
Many
thanks for your continued support.
Yours sincerely
Year 2 Team
