Dear Parents/Carers,

New Procedures for Absence Reporting

We are aware that many parents work or have other commitments on a daily basis therefore making a call to the school to report your child’s illness before 9.30 a.m. can prove to be difficult or frustrating when the school has only one telephone line to deal with all communication coming into the school.

At Brough School we constantly strive to improve procedures, therefore we are pleased to be able to offer two additional means of reporting absences.

1. By text message to the office mobile telephone on 07500161019 ( this is for absences only please do not call this number)

2. By e.mail to absences@broughprimary.eril.net ( please only use for absences not general enquiries)

If you chose the option of a text message or e.mail message you must include the relevant information needed for the office to process your child’s absence i.e.

· Child’s name

· Child’s class

· Date of absence

· Reason for absence

All absences, medical, dental, illness should be reported to the school office on the first day of absence by 9.30 a.m, and in writing to the pupils class teacher when the child return to school. This saves on administration time having to follow up unexplained absences by telephone.
