Dear Parent/Guardian
In
years 3 and 4 we are very excited to be introducing a new web-based learning
service and have recently guided your child on how to access this at home.
It
is called Taecanet Springboard and is closely linked to the school’s curriculum
and schemes of work and allows your child to work through
The
key benefits of using Taecanet Springboard are that:-
·
All the websites are safe and secure.
·
Children can access the website anytime/anywhere.
·
Children can work at their own pace and it encourages
ownership and self-motivation.
·
It is easy to set up and access.
·
Most importantly it is “fun” and reinforces/supports
learning in school.
Your
child’s class teacher will allocate relevant units and also a completion
date. In year 3 and 4, we have allocated
2 science units to begin with.
Our
current unit is, ‘Solids/Liquids and how they will be separated’ and our next
unit will be ‘Habitats’. Both of these
units have a completion date of Monday 14th April 2008 so we hope
your child will be able to access some, if not all!, of these journeys during
the Easter holidays.
To
access these units, your child will need to log onto the internet then follow
these stages:-
Log onto – www.taecanet.com
Click onto – ‘Students’ –
log in at the top right hand corner of the home page
Your child’s user name is –
Christian name.Surname
(Christian name – followed
by dot – surname,
e.g. “joe.bloggs”)
It
is not case sensitive so it will accept names with or without capital letters
at the beginning.
Then the password is –
password
Select the unit and click
on ‘start learning’
If your child would like
the questions read out to them then click on the ►
Icon at the right hand
corner of the page.
Then click on the circle
depending on which aspect of the unit is to be completed.
We
hope your child enjoys this new ‘web-based’ learning and that you are able to
support us in encouraging your child to access it all at home. If you have any difficulties accessing the
website or
Yours
sincerely
